About Maya

Maya Kessler is a director, producer and video editor. She has a BFA Cum Laude (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Audio-Visual arts from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, focusing on short videos and animation. "Simon Says", her graduation project, a 25 minute film, was nominated for the Rietveld prize.

Maya has been active in the Israeli TV industry since 2005. She has worked as an art director, props master and set dresser in various productions and directed and designed short videos for the Israeli Music Channel (Channel 24) using a variety of animation and video compositing techniques.

In 2007 Maya established a studio in Tel-Aviv which serves as a working space for artists and designers of different disciplines. The studio has hosted an exhibition as a part of the city wide event "Art TLV" in which Maya's part was "Cold Cuts", a 10 minute video work.

In 2008 Maya directed and designed "The Courageous Five", a finger-puppet animation series for a late night show on Israeli Channel 10 (10 Episodes, 4 minutes each, Hebrew).

In 2009-2010 Maya has also directed, produced and edited testimonial videos of patients from Europe and the US who participated in a clinical trial by NovoCure.
